Google G Suite's New Pricing Plans Reflect Renewed Enterprise Focus Summary

Google's new pricing plan for the G Suite cloud office support is directed at tougher enterprise customers, and to appeal to bigger organizations. Yet the modified packaging and costs could restrict adoption.

Above the $5"Fundamental" small company and also the $10"Company" tiers comes with an "Enterprise" $25 per user per month (PUPM) plan with additional security and management characteristics. The Enterprise program isn't available to education clients. Google's prices have remained mostly unchanged since the debut of the simple service in 2007 and Vault in 2012. All costs reflect undiscounted "list" costs.



Diagnosis


The addition of a Enterprise SKU at $25 PUPM should be viewed as part of Google's efforts to serve larger enterprises. It provides additional security and management features not already available, such as data loss prevention (DLP) for Drive, third-party archiving support, Gmail log file analysis, and applying the use of a hardware authentication key (useful for preventing malware attacks) and also S/MIME to Gmail. DLP to get Gmail moves in the 10 Business plan to the 25 Enterprise merchandise.

The $25 cost level is a large step up from the 10 existing grade, and will be tough to justify until Google adds more features. The recent features in the Enterprise edition will assist Google challenge Microsoft's Office 365 in larger organizations that value these capacities.
But, Office 365 provides more features in its comparable E3 program at $20. We expect to see discounting for high-volume users. Most of the qualities in Enterprise are new, so there is not much product disruption. But it will be a tough call for existing customers who want DLP for Gmail, who will see their bill increase by 2.5x sooner or later.

· If your organization has advanced safety issues, evaluate the new capabilities announced today.

· If your organization is utilizing DLP for Gmail, contact your sales representative to ask just how this change will impact you.

· If you presently have offers on the table for G SuiteBusiness, register before April 2017 in the event you want to have grandfathered entry to Gmail DLP until 31 January 2020.

· If your company is an educational institution that is using G Suite and needs the new Enterprise characteristics, touch Google to find out how you can get access to these.

· Don't categorize Google as a low-cost provider, particularly for greater security requirements.
